You know that new gold coin with George Washington that is worth a dollar? Why wasn't that Martin Luther King?! George Washington is already on a dollar. That indian chick got on the gold dollar for walking with two white guys, Luis and Clark. Martin Luther King mobilized hundreds of black people to march under much adversity. Why isn't he on a dollar bill?

Movie Name: "The Passion of the Christ: The ResERECTION"

Tagline: 'Jesus is back and hornier than ever.'

Plot: Is Jesus really this popular because he did a few parlor tricks and died on a cross back in the day? Think again! Our Lord and Savior had a lot more going for him than a winning personality and silky flowing hair... he had a shlong the size of Bethlehem! And that man knew how to use it. He'll have you screaming "Hallelujah!" all night long!

I couldn't resist.

I’m taking principles of economics because I have the intention of following economics as a possible major. I felt reassured when you explained what economics was. The allocation of scarce resources is actually a close subject to all of us. What came to mind after hearing your definition of economics was buying cold drinks. It has always bugged me that I spend my hard earned money for a drink that cost more when it’s cold. My money is much better spent on a larger quantity of drink. For the past few years I’ve been thinking with that kind of mind. So upon hearing you I felt draw to the field. What’s more is that I believe there may be an opportunity to help others. If I do buy the large quantity of drink I can share it with my neighbor and better my surroundings. It all sound so efficient to me. Mind you I have no previous knowledge. The high school that I attended previously was actually in a state of turmoil at the time I was enrolled. As a result I have no previous conscious exposure to economics as a field of study. We didn’t have a teacher at the time that was qualified to take the course. Instead we learned about good banking practices. They were helpful but I felt robbed. When class had started you asked what we knew I thought for certain that I wasn’t going to make it. I felt that way until I had seen the syllabus’ course description. As of now I doubt my inexperience will be a problem here. The only thing that can stop me is me. My only fear is that I don’t keep up with the reading and assignments. The syllabus made me feel like this was a beginners’ course so I need not have any previous knowledge. Knowing that the lowest 25% will be dropped is comforting. This is good. It rewards those who are capable of more, like a benefit of the doubt. A bad student’s performance will suffer no matter what percent you drop. The syllabus makes the course seem very feasible. Also I felt like the class will move pretty fast. I gathered this from your presentation, which at first worried me because of my lack experience. From my old understanding economics had always been the study of money. In my mind economics had always been a synonym for business. The allocation of scarce resources sounds more useful and interesting than my preconceptions. And speaking of preconceptions I thought you came off as someone who is very honest. You seem very knowledgeable in economics and serious when it comes to what you’re doing and what you expect from us. You expect us to keep up in class and follow the instructions given to us. You expect us to act with academic integrity, and to read and retain. I expect that more time and attention should be given in your class in order to pursue this field of study. This class especially because it is my first experience with economics and its curriculum is condensed. I plan on placing this course second priority. As long as I acquire the required text and supplies I’m good. I feel that you making your expectations clear is crucial to our passing, and I think you made those clear. I will need to study. My main study technique is using the information I just read and explaining to someone. I convey the information in my own way while I read. Writing down crucial data is helpful too. It’s been proven that the retention rate is higher if you can teach the information to someone else. I actually heard that you were a good instructor from and economics student, but others say you are kinda hard. I am slightly intimidated by the load, and I’m wondering were my books are coming from. But overall I feel confident at the moment that this is the right course to take. I’m sure it’ll be a positive experience.
